Emily Houska Obituary Chicago, Illinois: Katie Shober Sister, Katie Beach Reads and Bubbly
Emily was deeply cherished by her parents, Dan and Michelle, who found endless pride and inspiration in her kindness and resilience. She was loved immeasurably by her sisters, Katie and Sara, with a bond built on laughter, deep understanding, and unwavering support. Emily was also a beloved granddaughter of Mary Houska and the late Donald Houska, as well as the late Anthony and Ada “Nona” Teuma, all of whom held her dearly in their hearts.
She was a treasured cousin to many, including Ryan, Meredith, Gabrielle, Miller, Ross, Shane, Grace, Olivia, Eric, Abbie, and Anna, and a best friend to countless others. Emily had a rare and special gift — she made everyone around her feel safe, valued, and deeply cared for. A natural caregiver, she took on the worries of others as her own and gave love freely, without hesitation.
Emily’s commitment to helping others went far beyond her family and friends. She was dedicated to serving those in need, especially youth and families, and did so with humility and compassion. Her kindness was never loud or flashy — it was quiet, sincere, and deeply rooted in a genuine desire to make the world a better place. She lived with purpose, empathy, and an open heart.
Though we miss her more than words can express, Emily’s spirit continues to live on in our hearts — in the moments of stillness, in the memories we hold, and in the acts of kindness that reflect her legacy. She continues to guide us, reminding us to love fiercely, care selflessly, and always be there for one another.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Never forgotten.
