Tim Stoney Obituary – Beloved TV Newsreader Death at 58

We remember #TimStoney as a remarkable friend, an exceptional media colleague, and a passionate Demon supporter. His energy was infectious, whether he was engaged in lively conversations, advocating for causes he believed in, or inspiring others as an educator and trainer. Tim was a generous soul, an incredible father, and a devoted family man.

We had the privilege of sharing many events and successes together, often spending hours in deep conversation about life, our daughters’ shared love for fast cars, and everything in between. He was always fully committed to every project, whether leading the charge or working alongside us as a dependable wingman. Even as illness slowly took its toll, he was right there with me, right in the middle of the action at the Big Freeze on his beloved MCG.

It was an honor to see you last week, Tim — your mind was as sharp as ever, even though your once towering frame was beginning to fail you.

We’ll miss you, mate, whether it’s at the Frank Grey Smith, with your coffee with milk on the side, or on our regular chats. But your presence will never truly leave us; you’ll always be there in spirit.
